Brits dual for European Title

Stevie Morrison & Ben Rhodes hold a narrow lead from Draper & Greenhalgh with 2 days of racing left at the European Championships in Gdynia, Poland.

So far it's been a very open Regatta with the Austrian Nico's Della Karth leading after day 2 only to drop 30 points going into finals with a broken forestay. The Italian Sebellio brothers started today in the lead only to score an OCS on race 1 followed up by 3 very poor races which dropped them down the score sheets.

Today was an epic day on the water with the forecasted offshore gradient giving way to a pumping thermal enhancement which kicked up the sea state and turned today’s 4 races into a real challenge for the majority of the fleet. Stevie and Ben, however, really got to grips with the conditions and fired in a 7, 10, 4, 1 to restore their boat park swagger and put them in the yellow jersey tomorrow.

Tomorrow's forecast doesn’t look good and it’s likely we'll spend most of the day held onshore waiting for breeze. With 4 Gold Fleet races in the bag, we have a series and that takes some of the pressure off the race team. More on the regatta at the event website: www.olympicsailing.blip.yv
