Countdown to the Paralympics

The start of the Paralympics is now only 16 days away so today was all about planning our final build up into the Games. We've been working on this campaign for 18 months but the reality is that you're never 100% satisfied as the bar is continually moving. Our Olympic Manager and Steven Parks (Sparky) made a very good point in that the whole team is well prepared and "if the event started tomorrow we'd be ready!"

The time between now and race 1 is all about getting those bonus inches that may or may not make the difference. For us that's all about final equipment choices and some very specific drills. It's mostly maintenance training with no new skills being introduced at this late stage.

Today also highlighted the biggest strength in Team GBR, unity. After all the ups and downs of last week (and the celebrations of the night before), the Olympic coaches and many of the sailors took the time to summarise their notes and share their experiences from the Games.
