Graduation 'Elite Coach' 06 Intake

Over the past 3 years I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in UK Sports Elite Coach Program. This week saw the graduation of the 06 group at the World Class Coaches Conference at the Belfry and I thought I’d summarise the courses impact on me and my coaching.
The knowledge is in the Group. How many times have we attended a course and expected the presenter to give us an epiphany moments that will transform our lives, that simply does not happen and most of the time it’s us to the individual to interpret what’s being said and apply it to our own circumstances. Elite Coach gave me the opportunity to share the learning with a group of like minded people. Although we had different experiences and skills we all worked a similar field and that gave us the opportunity to pool or own experiences, apply this to what was being taught and really make the learning ‘sticky’ (see the tipping point to understand sticky)’
Has Elite Coach made a difference to my coaching? Well, I guess that can only be answered by my sailors but the results have been exceptional this year and moreover, the team environment we have created and maintained must be in part attributed to the skills and techniques I’ve learnt over the past 3 years. Be it Courageous conversations, Strategic Planning, Dealing with Conflict, Personal Impact or NLP, I’ve been exposed to a wide range of techniques that help me with my day to day challenges.
The key is to make continually challenge my own performance and make Excellence a Habit!
